Congregation Ahavas Achim
Our community warmly welcomes youth and families to join our activities. We cherish the sounds of children playing during services, their questions during our community seder, and all ages enjoy our intergenerational chanukah party.
Rabbi Shahar collaborates with families to find Jewish education opportunities locally or virtually that fit their needs, schedules and interests. As children near the age of b’nai mitzvah (marked in our community at 13 for all genders), Rabbi Shahar works directly with the students to prepare for these celebrations.
Serving our community is a primary value in our community. Following our adult members’ decades-long commitment to the Westfield Soup Kitchen, we organize a family soup kitchen day several times a year in which young people and their parents work together to prepare the day’s meal. We welcome any families with children over age 6 to join this initiative.
